'Where the Selkies Swim' Linocut Print
‘Where the Selkies Swim’ is a fresh and whimsical interpretation of Selkie folkore on the Isle of Skye, featuring the landscape of Fairy Pools. Leaping fish can be seen swimming around seals and women, with selkies transforming as the moon rises, looked down upon by the mountains and a shelleycoat, another creature of Scottish folklore. With metallic ink, highlighting pools of moonlight this piece has an enchanting glow. This piece is a two-layer linocut print, carefully inked—almost painted—using a fine roller, ensuring that each print in the edition has it’s own unique character.
Printed on ‘Bread & Butter’, acid-free, 594 x 841 mm (A1), paper with vegetable-oil based relief ink and silver metalllic relief ink.
Limited edition of 20.
